| Moisture/water vapor transmission through concrete
slabs can be minimized.
Signs of excessive moisture vapor include damp or moldy
carpets, VCT lifting, buckling or curling at the edges,
sheet vinyl floors bubbling, blistering, cracking and
lifting from the substrate. Dessicant testing can calculate
the moisture vapor transmission rate of your floor to
determine the level of corrective action required.
Leewens Corporation has two systems to reduce moisture
vapor transmission to under 1 pound per 1000 square
feet per 24 hours.
TESTING - A moisture vapor test should be performed
on all concrete on grade and suspended slabs poured
on a solid pan.
Testing involves a 65-72 hour sealed test administered
by qualified personnel. Leewens Corporation performs
this type of testing.
APPLICATION OF VAPOR BARRIERS is over a properly prepared
surface such as shotblasted. Re-testing for moisture
vapor is recommended after application.
Moisture Vapor barriers may be applied to new or existing
concrete slabs.

preparation. Come see what we do!
